Before your blood sample are drawn from you, you are provided with information and your situation is assessed on whether you require HIV Antibody test. The counselor/nurse will usually introduce themselves to you. They would ensure that the session is confidential.

The counselor/nurse will ask you several questions on why you have decided to come for a test. They would provide on basic information on HIV/AIDS, including modes of transmissions, prevention methods, difference between HIV and AIDS, treatment options and etc.

Therefore, it is vital that you receive pre test counseling at the site you are deciding to undertake the HIV Antibody Test.
