Project Overview
The Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) set-up the People Living with HIV/AIDS Business Assistance Scheme in 2002 to help alleviate the negative impacts that HIV/AIDS can cause on household livelihoods as it hits its economic active members.

The Scheme enables Borrowers to be more economically self-reliant, creates employment opportunities for PLWHAs and their families as well as engages infected and affected women in economically productive activities.

The MAF works with Partner Organisations of the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) to provide interest-free loans to their HIV/AIDS infected and affected members who are unable to access credit from traditional sources. MAF disburses funds to the Borrower through the MAC Partner Organisations.
