| Business Assistance Scheme |
| |
|
|
| The Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) set-up
the People Living with HIV/AIDS Business Assistance Scheme
in 2002 to help alleviate the negative impacts that HIV/AIDS
can cause on household livelihoods as it hits its economic active
members. |
| |
| The Scheme enables Borrowers to be more
economically self-reliant, creates employment opportunities
for PLWHAs and their families as well as engages infected and
affected women in economically productive activities. |
| |
| The MAF works with Partner Organisations
of the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) to provide interest-free
loans to their HIV/AIDS infected and affected members who are
unable to access credit from traditional sources. MAF disburses
funds to the Borrower through the MAC Partner Organisations. |
| |
|
