PT Foundation Raises Awareness of HIV/AIDS Issues in Malaysia at AIDS 2012

PT Foundation ISEAN Hivos AIDS 2012 Malaysia Day

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 July 2012 – Partner Organisation, PT Foundation will host “Malaysia Day” at the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) in Washington DC, USA on 24 July 2012. The exhibition is part of the ISEAN-Hivos Global Fund Round 10 Programme that looks to reduce HIV vulnerability amongst men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender people (TG) across four island countries in Southeast Asia, i.e. Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines, and Timor Leste.

A Sub-Recipient of the Global Fund, the world’s largest financier of anti-AIDS programmes, PT Foundation sets out to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS issues in Malaysia, particularly ones that affect MSM and TG, through video showcases, interactive game sessions, and a panel discussion on the current Malaysian situation. The launch of “Malaysian MSM & TG HIV Prevention Scorecard”, a report detailing achievements and challenges, and charting the future of the national HIV/AIDS response in MSM and TG populations, will be the main highlight of the “Malaysia Day” proceedings.
