Enterprising Community Project

Malaysian AIDS Council – International HIV/AIDS Alliance Community Action for Harm Reduction Programme

Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC), the peak non-governmental organisation for coordinating civil society responses to HIV/AIDS, aims to address the socio-economic determinants of health for women who face multiple layers of stigma and discrimination focusing on female injecting drug users, female sex workers and their families in Kelantan, by forming a sustainable community enterprise through the International HIV/AIDS Alliance Community Action for Harm Reduction (CAHR) programme.

This Enterprising Community Project will be made possible through a strategic public private partnership with relevant partner/partners of MAC.

The objective of the project is to reduce unemployment among 250 women in rural and semi-urban resource-poor settings through training and supporting them to start small sustainable household income generating activities.
MAC invites interested civil society organisations to join us on this endeavour as the onsite Implementing Partners to propose and provide appropriate services for the Project beneficiaries. Grants will be rewarded to organisations that are capable of demonstrating innovative and action-translatable ideas in their proposals.

The proposal should include:

  1. Organisational Profile
  2. Description of the activities that are planned
  3. Detailed timeline
  4. Budget for the planning period

The deadline of submission of proposal is 11 March 2012.

For more information, please contact the Alliance CAHR Project team at the Malaysian AIDS Council, via Naza 014 736 6602 or Jenithaa 016 356 1683.

Only shortlisted organisations will be notified.
