FAREEDA Presents Malam Amal Tahajjud Cinta Featuring Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 DECEMBER 2012FAREEDA Presents Malam Amal Tahajjud Cinta is an exclusive charity dinner showcase that will open the social calendar of 2013. Themed around spiritual and inspirational music, the showcase features Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza, a Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporter for the Malaysian AIDS Foundation, who for the first time will perform a repertoire of songs from her 2009 album Tahajjud Cinta and reinterpretations of her other popular songs, backed by Mohram and with musical arrangement by Aubrey Suwito. This charity event will be held on 30 January 2013 at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.

“The plight of people living with HIV is a cause that is always dear to my heart. My involvement in Malaysian AIDS Foundation’s Red Ribbon Celebrity Programme ever since it was initiated in 2009 has opened my eyes to the realities of HIV & AIDS. Insya-Allah (God willing), I will continue to pledge my contribution in any way I can in the future. This is a gift right from my heart,” Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza explained her motivation to contribute to the charity programme.

FAREEDA, Malaysia’s renowned fashion house of Muslim female headscarves is the proud sponsor of the dinner showcase, and leader in the efforts to advance corporate social responsibility amongst local Muslim entrepreneurs. “Our support for this charity event is a reflection of commitment in closing the resource gap in improving the quality of life of the underprivileged,” remarked Puan Faridah Zakaria, the founder of FAREEDA.

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is the official hotel partner of Malam Amal Tahajjud Cinta. “We are grateful for the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to a charitable initiative that will alleviate the burden of people living with HIV. At Hyatt we share a belief that, as a company and individuals, we are committed to doing our part to enable thriving communities – places where we are proud to work, our neighbours want to live, and our guests want to visit. This is Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur’s unique way of supporting Malaysians in need,” Robert Dallimore, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur described the partnership.

Proceeds from this dinner showcase will benefit two charitable organisations – the Malaysian AIDS Foundation and Yayasan Ihitimam Malaysia – for the development of HIV & AIDS education, prevention, treatment, care and support programmes in Malaysia, including the setting up of a shelter home for women and children living with HIV in Kelantan.

FAREEDA Presents Malam Amal Tahajjud Cinta is the perfect platform for the local corporate citizens, particularly those in Islamic industries, to improve their understanding of the struggles and needs of people living with HIV, in addition for them to make a contribution,” remarked Tuan Haji Yazlan Bin Dato’ Yahya, Chairman of the Organising Committee of Malam Amal Tahajjud Cinta.
